Valley Girl Rantings...

Blah, blah, blah... Well...here is an attempt to keep my thoughts in order in the form of an online journal...since I don't have time to write in a normal journal, and I seem to spend twenty three hours in front of a computer...this should prove successful.

I work too much and do not get paid...the joys of starting my own business...my business partner stresses over the money aspect...I understand in a way--she has a family to support...but I too have obligations...bills that don't get paid...not to mention I am still living in my parents basement due to past endeavours that were not so fruitful. Hopefully this one will outlast the others and I will finally suceed...I have a good feeling about my business...I can't wait for the busy season to start...and I pray for rain on a daily basis...

This Friday I turn 29...you can't imagine the items that were on my list of "Things I want to accomplish before I am 30"...I am pretty sure that it will be impossible to achieve any of them within a year...

So...as usual...I am at work in front of the computer (in the main store-not the office) and it has been a slow day...but the sun is shining bright and it's a long weekend so I am sure people have better things to do than rent movies...I wish it would rain...we beat our all time high sales on Friday...it is a good sign but the rest of the weekend has been crap...but we made rent this month...and we paid our employees (even if we didn't pay ourselves)...and everything else got at least $50 put on it...so all in all it's not all bad...September probably won't be much better considering kids are going back to school on Tuesday...by October we should see a difference in sales...people will start Christmas shopping...

My brother Paul and his fiance Line were in for the first time last night...wanted to rent "Lord of the Rings: Two Towers" but they were all rented...had to go to Blockbuster...ha ha...

Still no news of the other franchise video store opening where Jumbo Video closed...the windows are still papered and the Jumbo signs remain...memories haunt me...I miss that store...

Trying not to let the time of year bring me down but unfortunately I get this way around my birthday...Friday will probably see tears...but hopefully a night out with Susanna and a few beers will ease the pain of growing older...I feel 18 in my heart but my body tells me otherwise...but I still get ID'd at the Liquor store so I suppose that is a good sign that I still retain a youthful presence...

The town seems busy today...next weekend will be a nightmare with the balloon fiesta getting underway...maybe business will improve because of it....the all nighter at the Drive-In is tonight...I can't wait until it closes for the season...ramble, ramble, ramble...

Well I've exausted myself with this so I suppose I should see what work is left to be done...although Mindy and I changed things around last night and I prepared the back counter for the arrival of the popcorn and frushie machines...oh joy...two giant pains in my ass and new things to learn and teach...especially Scott who didn't have the joy of previously working with a popcorn machine...so glad I never became a teacher...my patience is nada...I won't tolerate anything but the best when it comes to this store...but I hate yelling at fifteen year old boys so...ha ha...

Hmmm....business is picking up so I must be off...

Until next time...

Talk slow when you talk pretty...

My GOD my life is boring!
